Final Paper Submission Process

All accepted papers must be prepared as indicated below and final camera-ready versions must be uploaded to the IEEE Conference eXpress site (not EDAS) in order for them to be published in the proceedings and IEEE Xplore.

The deadline for author registration and final paper submission is Sunday, 1 August 2010 11:59pm EDT. You must upload the final version of your source file and complete the copyright transfer before the deadline. If you fail to comply, the paper will be dropped from the program.

Revise Your Paper

Please read the reviews and follow the reviewers' recommendations for revising your final paper. When you are done with revising, please print out your paper and carefully proof read it. Please make sure paper complies with the review formatting requirements listed below.

All accepted papers must be written in English with a maximum paper length of six (6) printed pages (10-point font) including figures. IEEE Transactions templates for Microsoft Word or LaTeX formats can be found HERE.

Alternatively you can follow the sample instructions in this template.

Note that this format requires:

- Authors' affiliation centered under authors' name and title, not in a footnote
- No authors bios nor pictures
- No index terms nor keywords
- In LaTex, the use of the \documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran} command

Register For The Conference

  1. It is necessary to register before uploading your camera-ready paper.
  2. At least one author must register for the conference by Sunday, 1 August 2010 noon (EDT) as the presenter.
  3. ComSoc policy states that all accepted IEEE SmartGridComm 2010 technical paper presenters must register at the FULL or LIMITED rate. For authors presenting multiple papers, one FULL or LIMITED registration is valid for up to three (3) papers.
  4. For registration information, go to Registration.
  5. It is imperative that the same author creates, reviews and approves the camera-ready PDFs and submits the IEEE copyright form. (Only one e-mail address can be associated to a registration code).
  6. When you are done with the registration you will be given a Registration Code. You will need the Registration Code to upload your camera-ready paper.
  7. If you are registering by fax, please allow 3 working days to receive your Registration Code.
  8. Please Do Not Share Your Registration Code With Anyone Else.
  9. Although the code enables submission of up to three papers, it can be used only once by you to create one author account for these submissions.
  10. The organizers of IEEE SmartGridComm 2010 as well as our attendees expect accepted papers to be presented at the conference. IEEE reserves the right to exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (e.g., removal from IEEE Xplore) if the paper is not presented at the conference.

Paper Submission

  1. Your paper must be received by Sunday, 1 August 2010 (11:59pm EDT) for it to be in the proceedings.
  2. For final paper submission, go to http://www.ieee.org/web/publications/pubservices/confpub/smgrid10/index.html.
  3. You will need the following to upload your source file.
    1. Conference ID smgrid10: Use for this conference.
    2. Your registration code: obtained after you completed your registration.
    3. Your EDAS paper ID number (not your EDAS author account number)
  4. If you experience technical problems uploading your paper, email IEEE eXpress at e.aubrey@ieee.org.

Submit Your Copyright Transfer

After you upload your final paper and approve the PDF, a Submit Copyright link will appear in your IEEE eXpress account. This enables you to complete the IEEE (electronic) Copyright form. When you receive our confirmation email after completing the electronic form (by selecting Submit), you will not need to fax or mail a paper copyright form.

Visa Instructions And Assistance

Authors should use EDAS to retrieve their personalized visa assistance letters (soft copy in PDF format).

If you require a hard copy of the letter, you must complete a Comsoc Visa Assistance Request
